The refined canvas is primed in several layers with chalk primer, acrylic paint and shellac. It was finished with silver leaf, moon gold and palladium. In between and at the end, glazes of oil paint refine the overall picture and restore some structure and order to the broken-up chaos.
Over the years, the silver leaf will slowly darken and change color in a variety of shades. The canvas matures and lives on. A gradual change that is desired by the customer.
