In summer 2021, we were able to restore the organ façade of the "Owl Organ" at the Französische Friedrichstadtkirche in Berlin.
This includes the exterior carving, the veil boards and a repainting of the wooden paneling.
The Französische Friedrichstadtkirche was built between 1701 and 1705 and is directly attached to the Französische Dom on Gendarmenmarkt.
The cathedral and the church were almost destroyed during the Second World War, but were rebuilt in the 1980s.
The carvings of the organ façade from the first organ (1754/55) are the only original piece of equipment still preserved in the church, as it was dismantled during the Second World War during the attacks on Berlin and stored in a safe place.
